Any teen entering grades 6-9 can participate. Come learn the titles of the books to be used in the competition, and decided if you want to be a part of the team! Don’t think you can compete? We’ll still have plenty of things for supporters of the team to do, so come see what you can do!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;June 17&lt;br /&gt;6pm&lt;br /&gt;Book Buddies&lt;br /&gt;Read some stories, sing some songs, and help some of our young patrons catch the love of books and reading. This is a great way to accumulate some community service hours!  The teen and children’s librarians will be on hand to help you pick some appropriate books, songs, and puppets to keep the kids entertained!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;June 21&lt;br /&gt;2:30-4:30pm&lt;br /&gt;Summer Reading Decorating Part One&lt;br /&gt;This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Catch the Reading Bug” and we need your help to turn the library into a bug filled wonderland. These holiday themed charm bracelets will be the perfect accessory for season.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dec 9  @ 1:30 till I have to go home--Make your own buttons. We have a button maker, and a ton of magazines, and some stickers, and anything I can find on Google Images--you bring your creative juices and some cool ideas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dec 11 @ 6:45 --Book Buddies. Read to little kids, it's alot of fun, and Eileen lets you play with puppets.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dec 15 @ 10:30-- Gingerbread House -build and decorate a gingerbread house, and then you can pretend you are a giant eating Hansel and Gretel's house.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dec 26 @ 7--TAB meeting--you're always welcome to come to our Teen Advisory board meetings. We might break out the Guitar Hero II for the night, unless Eileen gets lucky and someone buys her Guitar Hero III for the ps2 this Christmas....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dec 28 @ 2:30--Fruit Carving--take a break from the cookies candy and cake that seems to multiply over the holidays, and make some cool fruit animals and creatures with Rona Madri. After you answer the question, the site gives you an &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;explanation&lt;/span&gt; of how to get the correct answer. Cool right? I got the right answer for Oct 17, and it was a math question--not my strong point! Not much blood, no gore, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;just&lt;/span&gt; a good story with characters you'll want to hang out with on a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Friday&lt;/span&gt; night. You'll be amazed at how quickly you want to get though these 3 hefty books. Watch for a 4&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; book in the series next year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Epic&lt;/em&gt; by Conor &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Kostick&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Can you imagine a world where World of &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Warcraft&lt;/span&gt; or &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;Runescape&lt;/span&gt; are a for  of government, and YOU have to battle against the rulers to save your home and your family? Put down that controller and pick up this book that tackles this &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;interesting&lt;/span&gt; question.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;The Plain &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;Janes&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt; by Cecil &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"&gt;Casellucci&lt;/span&gt; and &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"&gt;Jum&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"&gt;Rugg&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A graphic novel that sure to appeal to anyone who's ever felt out of place. If you like this one, ask a librarian about Confessions of a Blabbermouth or Clubbing, both coming out soon!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Twisted&lt;/em&gt; by Laurie &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12"&gt;Halse&lt;/span&gt; Anderson&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After finally getting noticed by someone &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13"&gt;other&lt;/span&gt; that school bullies and his ever-angry father, seventeen year old Tyler enjoys his touch new reputation and the attentions of a popular girl, but when life starts to go bad again, he has to learn how to stand up for himself.
